Tadeusz Ślusarski

Died: August 17, 1998 in Ostromice, Poland

Ślusarki was a Polish athlete who specialized in pole vault. He participated three times in the Olympic Games: Munich 1972, Montreal 1976 and Moscow 1980. In Munich he failed to complete any height in the final. In Montreal he won the gold medal and in Moscow he got silver. He also became two times European indoor champion (1974 and 1978) and the won silver on the Universiade (1977).
He ended his sports career in 1988, aged 38. Later he coached the local clubs in Skra and in Otwock, where he lived. In Warsaw he worked as a teacher at the local High School.
He died in a car crash together with Władysław Komar, a Polish shot putter, who won gold on the 1972 Munich Olympics.
